A Bit About Me
I’m a first-generation Cambodian-Chinese American with a diverse background in web design, UX/UI research, technical writing, and creative media. I’m passionate about crafting clear, user-friendly solutions that help clients and employers meet their goals with creativity and precision.
Since my senior year of high school, I’ve been balancing work and education, navigating the challenges of pursuing my academic and professional goals. Midway through the COVID-19 pandemic, I took a break to focus on my well-being and recalibrate. By 2022, I fully committed to completing my bachelor’s degree, moving to Sacramento to immerse myself in this journey and refine my skills.
Outside of my professional pursuits, I’m deeply passionate about songwriting and music production. These creative outlets have taught me the importance of discipline, adaptability, and the power of storytelling—qualities I bring to every project I undertake. Balancing my hobbies with work and education has been a rewarding challenge, allowing me to stay grounded while continually striving for growth.
Work Experience
June 2022 - December 2022
October 2017 - September 2019
At Banter Bookshop, I operated the BookManager POS system, managed inventory tasks, and maintained accurate stock levels. I handled daily operations, including opening/closing procedures, cash handling, and store upkeep, ensuring efficient operations.
I also helped coordinate author events, engaging with the community and enhancing the store's visibility.
As a Youth Project Intern at SAVE., I organized community events and a youth summit, advocating for victims of teen dating and domestic violence with local leaders. I managed social media accounts and contributed to charity galas, boosting community engagement.
I also developed consent & safety posters for distribution across the Fremont Unified School District system, raising awareness among students. As part of my final project, I began designing a curriculum for at-risk young men focused on prevention and education.
August 2017 - July 2021
As a Shift Supervisor at Starbucks, I rose from barista to trainer to supervisor, leading daily operations to ensure safety, cleanliness, and outstanding customer service while driving sales. I handled administrative tasks such as cash handling, inventory, and schedule forecasting, optimizing store performance.
I facilitated team meetings, coached team members, and resolved conflicts to maintain a positive work environment. Recognized three times as Partner of the Quarter, I played a key role in achieving district goals and creating strong relationships with regular customers.
